In short
A move-in concierge plans and sets up your new home around your move, so you arrive to a home that already works. The work starts before moving day with a room-by-room plan, continues with unpacking and setup of every key space, and ends with the boxes gone, everything labeled and a care guide in hand.

Before the move
The work starts weeks before the truck does. A move-in concierge walks the new home, or studies the floor plan and photographs if you are relocating, and decides where each part of your household will live: which cabinet holds the everyday plates, which closet takes the linens, where the school things go.
That plan becomes three practical things:
- A room-by-room map that tells the movers which room each box belongs in.
- A sourcing list of drawer inserts, shelf risers, hangers and canisters, measured to the new cabinetry and ordered to arrive before you do.
- A packing note for whoever is packing the old home, so boxes are labeled by destination and priority rather than “kitchen, misc.”
If you are building or renovating, this is also the moment to influence what goes inside the cabinetry: shelf heights, drawer dividers, hanging lengths in the closets. Changes on paper are easy. Changes after installation are not.
Move day
On move day the work happens in a deliberate order, so the house becomes livable as quickly as possible:
- The kitchen, so the household can make coffee and eat.
- Bedrooms and bathrooms, so everyone can sleep and get ready the next morning.
- Children’s rooms, so the first night feels familiar.
- Closets, linens and the pantry, set up to the plan, not filled at random.
Everything is unpacked straight into its planned place and labeled where labels help. Nothing is unpacked “for now.”
The day after
The last stage is the difference between unpacked and arrived. Boxes and packing materials are broken down and removed. Each space is walked through with you, so you know where things are and why. You receive a care guide written for your household, and a check-in is booked for thirty days later, once you have lived with the system and know what to adjust.
What it is not
A move-in concierge works alongside your movers; it does not replace them. The moving company transports and places the furniture; the concierge plans, unpacks, sources, installs and labels. It is also not a one-day reset. Most of the value is in the planning that happens before anything arrives.
How long it takes
It depends on the size of the home and how much is moving. Home Harmonics schedules move-ins as consecutive days, beginning at three full days on site, and sets the exact dates in a written proposal after a walkthrough. If you have a closing or move date, that date shapes the plan from the start.
When it is worth it
- Relocations, when you arrive in a city where you do not yet know where anything is.
- New builds and renovations, when the cabinetry is new and nothing has a place yet.
- Families with young children, when the first nights need to feel normal.
- Tight timelines, when a closing date or a new job leaves no room for weeks of boxes.
Questions to ask any move-in provider
- Who will actually be in my home, and is it the person I spoke with?
- How do you plan before moving day, and what do you need from me?
- How are products sourced and billed?
- What happens to the boxes and packing materials?
- Will anything in my home be photographed, and with what consent?
Home Harmonics answers each of those in writing before a move begins. Move-In Concierge starts with a complimentary walkthrough, in person or by video if you are relocating.
