TipsEdit first. Then buy.

The most common organizing mistake is buying storage first. Baskets can’t fix an overfull shelf.

1. Measure the space

Know the exact width, depth and height before you shop. It prevents returns and wasted space.

2. Keep only what you use

Take everything out, sort into keep, donate and discard, and be honest about what you actually use.

3. Choose storage last

Once you know what’s staying, pick storage to fit it. You’ll buy less, and it will fit.

How we handle it

Our process is edit first, then design and set up the storage. Nothing is bought until we know what it needs to hold.
