TipsKids closet organization: store at their height

Kids keep a space tidy when they can reach it. Organize at their height.

A low wooden shelf in a child's closet with folded knits, wooden toys and a stuffed bunny in open bins.

Everyday items within reach

Clothes they wear daily, favorite books and a few toys go on low shelves or open bins. Put out-of-season and special items higher.

Rotate, don’t stack

Keep only a few toys out at a time and store the rest. Rotate every few weeks so old toys feel new. Fewer things out means easier cleanup.

Make it easy to put away

Open bins with handles beat lids. One bin per category: blocks, books, stuffed animals.

How we handle it

We design kids’ spaces around how each child moves, so they can take part in keeping it tidy.
